We believe you should know the name of the person who pressed your olive oil.
Local Boy is a food brand born in Placer County, California — a place in the Sierra foothills where the mandarins grow sweet, the olive trees are older than the roads, and the farmers have been here longer than the street signs.
Everything we carry comes from within 30 miles. The mandarin olive oil from Colwell Ranch up the road. The honey from Bear River. The beef from Bar NDC Cattle. The cheese, the soap, the preserves — all of it grown, pressed, and made by people we know by name.
We tell their stories. We put them on a card next to every product. Who grew it. Where. Why it matters. That's the whole brand. That's Local Boy.
Mandarin season peaks in November and so does Placer County. This month's box is built for the Thanksgiving table — a pasture-raised heritage turkey from right here in Loomis, mandarin olive oil from Colwell Ranch to baste it with, honey from Bear River for the glaze, and everything you need to make the foothills part of your feast.
How easy is that?
Once a month, we gather — wine from the foothills, food from the producers, and the farmers themselves. It's the kind of evening where you leave knowing the name of the person who pressed the olive oil.
First tasting announced soon. Join the list to be first to know.
